Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Data team. This role focuses on supporting the infrastructure and deployment of data-centric applications, services, and pipelines running predominantly on-premises. The ideal candidate will have experience managing scalable environments, particularly for data processing and event streaming systems. While cloud experience (especially with GCP) is a plus, our infrastructure is primarily hosted in-house. The ideal candidate will work closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Data Scientists to ensure that data platforms and pipelines are reliable, secure, and performant. Experience with technologies such as Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, Superset, and Kubernetes is highly valued.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to design and support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD) for data services and infrastructure.
  • Support Apache Kafka clusters and other event streaming systems.
  • Operate and monitor data-related platforms such as ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, and Superset.
  • Monitor system health and performance; troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly.
  • Improve deployment strategies and reduce time to delivery through automation and tooling.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production environments when needed.
  • Support compliance and security initiatives in collaboration with IT and Security teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in a DevOps or Site Reliability role, ideally in data-heavy environments.
  • Proven experience with event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka. 
  • Strong knowledge of container technologies and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Superset.
  • Good understanding of networking, monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g. NewRelic, Grafana)
  • Comfortable working in predominantly on-prem environments; knowledge of GCP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
